Be prepared to discuss with adviser and/or editors which techniques you use:
Each shot is worth 10 points. You can use your required sports photos for up to 10 of the shots. You must use at least three different kinds of the other shots.
Procedures:
- Using a yearbook camera or your own camera or phone you must take 20 PUBLISHABLE photos for the yearbook
- Photos must be from the categories below.
- Photos must observe the rules of composition.
- Photos must be uploaded to hjedesign and tagged with the keyword topic, people in the photo and “by your first name your last name”
- Deadline is Oct 7
Choose 5 of these types of shots:
- A single individual engaged in a learning activity.
- A shot of a teacher and a student engaged in a learning activity.
- A group of at least 3 people not usually in the Yearbook.
- A photo taken in a classroom setting.
- A sports action photo of an athlete (game or practice).
- A sports action photo with an athlete and the ball clearly in the frame (game only).
- A photo of an athlete on the sidelines of a game or in conference with a coach or another player.
- A photo of at least 2 members in an organization engaged in an activity for that organization.

- Framing
- Non-distracting background
- Interesting angle
- Rule of thirds
- Visual leading lines
- Impact or emotion
