For Monday: We will go over The Myth of Sisyphus and THe Guest, both by Camus. You received The Myth of Sisyphus in class and you should have it thoroughly marked up. Read it repeatedly. THink about the big questions, such as why must we imagine Sisyphus as happy? How does the essay, which was written around the same time as The Stranger, illuminate the novel? You can get a copy of the works by clicking on the title or you can find them on the class handouts page. I will check the homework I did not get to this week (on taking notes on Existentialism).
For Block: Read Hemingway's short stories: "A Clean, Well Lighted Place," "Hills Like White Elephants," and "The Killers." Read, Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken"
For Thursday: Read: Silko: Red Convertable.
