ERWC Units take students through a series of exercises related to the unit's readings. You are required to record your writing for these units neatly, completely and in a well-organized fashion in your class binder. You must also keep your readings package and all other handouts neatly in this binder. Sometimes an exercises involves marking up a reading. To keep track of these exercises you will record the exercise number and date on the page of your notes. You will also keep track of exercise numbers in the table of contents that you will create for each unit. Sometimes we skip an exercises and sometimes I add in supplemental reading and writing. To keep your exercise numbers aligned with the exercise numbers in the unit, we may sometimes skip numbers. For activities that I add, we may just continue with the numbering sequence or we may use an alternate numbering system, such as ADD-1, ADD-2.

SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT:
Write Common Application essay on prompt of your choice. If you need help beyond class, here are additional instructions on writing the common app essay.
Assessment: This essay should be 600-700 words. It should address the chosen prompt and present you in a way that would get you into college. Get personal. Tell a story. But do not make any obvious grammatical or mechanical errors. For example, obvious run-on sentences; easily caught misspelled words; or failure to capitalize the first letter of a sentence, an obvious proper noun or the pronoun 'I" indicate that you do not care or are not ready for college and will result in a severe point deduction.
